Some recent layouts...

With the remodel of our house, I've been too busy to really be able to post anything lately...but I wanted to update so that I don't get too behind. Here are my recent faves:
The first layout is of my friend Suz's boys. She is generous enough to let me scrap with her Disney photos sometimes (which is WAY fun for me) and this is one of my recent faves. The bottom one is just a quick layout of my oldest daughter and our lab.

Well, the cabinet is still not done. It's about 2/3 of the way done, though. I am still sanding the framework and I'm almost done with that, then onto the cabinet doors. I have to tell you, this process is so slow going. I will NEVER ever paint wood again before sanding it first. What a pain in the ass.
Today I'll be working the evening shift and then tomorrow I'm off. I'll probably be spending most of it outside sanding these dang cabinet doors. But that's ok, it gives me a reason to be able to go outside and not be cooped up in the house. Looks like from now on the weather is going to be somewhat mild, if not warm, so maybe Spring is finally showing her face!?

Bathroom Remodel in Progress::
*Note - the blue paint looks a lot darker here in this photo than IRL. Really, it's a very pretty powder aqua/baby blue. Very tropical color.

The photos don't do it justice. If you'll notice the pretty brushed nickel light fixture in the 2nd photo. I just love the way it looks against the blue. The cabinet hardware is also brushed nickel - kind of a braided handle. Very pretty. Also, the green counter top is going bye bye. In about 2-4 weeks, we will be ordering a grey granite countertop. The door will also be replaced with a 2 or 4 panel white door.
We'll be adding moulding along the top of the ceiling and adding the white baseboards back to the bottom around the floor. It's going to be very nice - very beach bungalowy.
More pics to come as we go along.

Oh vey - (and I'm not even Jewish) it's been ONE of those days. You know the ones.
Stupid bad stuff keeps happening and half of it is my own fault, but half of it is the fault of other people - or things.
Like this morning, woke up and there was red ALL OVER my bedroom carpet. My light beige bedroom carpet, mind you. Idiot me left my Tropical Punch Crystal Lite cup on my computer desk at bedtime and what happened? My cat(s) happened, that's what. There's like this 2 foot skid mark of red Crystal Lite on my carpet now. Looks like they picked the damn cup up (without opposable thumbs I have no idea how this happened) and flung it across the bedroom floor. The silver lining to this incident is that we were going to replace this carpet. BWAHAHAHAHAHA (<--that's not funny laugh, that's going insane, drooling laugh)
So, then I had a glass of water on my computer desk this morning. You would have THOUGHT I would have learned from the red incident earlier in the morning (or night) and my cat jumped UP on the computer desk, knocking my water over into my shoes. I jumped up, the cat jumped down, I tripped over him and fell right on TOP of my vacuum. Yes, on top of it. The back of the vaccum went !~SNAP~! and my vacuum was pronounced dead at approx. 9am this morning.
So, I went to Wally World to get something cheap, and that's when I saw it. My dream vaccum. It was still a cheapy, dont get me wrong, but the thing had a mutha effin extendable wand that dusted off your ceiling fans and other dusty items, then you could stick it back in it's chamber and the vacuum suction CLEANED IT! Dude, I was like - NO WAY! But....way. Completely sold out.
Whatever, it was fine. I got me a new vacuum now and it sucks. No, I mean it really sucks. Dirt. And dust. I love it - for a cheapy.

Here's a layout I did yesterday with Nikki B's Happy Little Garden kit from Shabby Pickle Designs.

Ahhh, it's Friday and I don't have to work tomorrow. What I DO have to do is clean house in a major way. My bedroom and master bath is especially disastrous so I think I'm going to get the steam tool out and really sanitize and clean the bathroom and bedroom tomorrow - dust and all that jazz. I need to do it anyway seeing that I'm going to be painting and such soon.
Today was kinda good, kinda so-so. I got to go over to Paint and hang out a little bit at work. I got a customer commendation to put in my file -WOOHOO! That's like the 4th or 5th one since August which is awesome because not only can that look good if I ever want to apply for manager but it also helps me petition for a raise baby!
Tomorrow I'm planning on scrapping with my good friend Suz, while she does an online crop at Serendipity Scraps for their DT thingy. Not sure exactly what it's all about but you can hop over to her blog for more info.
Suz has been my saving grace when it comes to matching photos with kits that I don't have the pics for. She has a ton of pics just waiting to be scrapped. Suz is a paper scrapper so she is super-awesome enough to let me use her pictures for digital pages, then she takes my digital pages and uses them as lifts, sketches or inspiration for her own layouts. I find it really fun to see how she turns my pages and turns them into her own paper version. It's been really great to scrap her stuff.
Here's a page I did for SSD featuring Robin Carlton, Fee Jardine & Zoe Pearn's triple dip kit called Twitter. (I can't post an image as the kit hasn't been released yet but here's a sneaky peek of what it looks like). You can get this kit on Saturday 2/21.I really loved this pic and the kit was a perfect match.
Click over to Suz's blog to see her version.

Tonight I'm gonna scrap the night away since I don't have to wake up at anytime early in the morning. Gonna relax, enjoy my weekend off and aside from cleaning, I'm gonna just veg.

Know what I hate? I hate it when people act like idiots. Like when grown men or women act like completely incompetent 15 year old kids.
Like when 40 year olds pretend to be your friend and then go blab a bunch of stuff to other people. I mean really, why do people do that? Do they think you won't find out? Did they miss that lesson growing up? Ugh. People just amaze me. Makes it really hard to trust.

Today I got to learn a bunch of stuff at work. The funnest thing I did was learn to mix paint. Of course, it wasn't a detailed lesson but I'm getting one of those tomorrow from Kevin. I cannot wait to transfer depts. I work at Lowe's and work in the Tool dept and I hate it. Being a girl, well, I'm just not into tools that much. I have learned a lot, for sure, but I am soooooo excited to go to Paint. It's kinda like...digi. LOL - Color schemes and matching colors and telling people how to paint their walls. It's gonna be fast paced but REALLY fun.

Tonight I'm going to work out. My goal is to burn 600 calories. Tomorrow night me and Kristina are going to do a marathon workout and burn 1000 calories. Should be fun. Tiring but fun. We've got Saturday off though so if we're tired we can totally sleep in.

We got 3 new movies from Netflix. Lions For Lambs, House, M.D. - Season 1 and The Bucket List. Anyone have any reviews of these movies for me? I'm really hoping I like House.

Here's a layout I just finished with Absolute Cherry Crush by Lauren Grier, Shawna Clingerman and Penny Springmann. Such a FUN kit! Available at Sweet Shoppe Designs.

Well, after a week of being lazy, I got myself back into the gym last night. Surprisingly, it was packed so all I was able to do was the recumbant bike on Cross Country mode for 35 mins. That mode was KILLER though. My legs and butt were never so sore.
I got up this morning and weighed in at 213, which means I'm down .8 from last week and in total, I've lost 12 lbs since Jan. 8th. WOOHOO!

I don't know why I'm so excited about this since it's going to be in the 40's today, but I woke up completely excited that Spring is on the way. Maybe it's the time of year and not the weather that has me excited. I cannot wait to dig in the dirt and plant my flowers, get on the mower and do the yard and put down fertilizer in the grass.

I did a page yesterday and I have to say that even though it didn't come out like what I envisioned, I really like it a lot!
I did this page with the What's Your Story kit by Heather Roselli over at Sweet Shoppe Designs.
First of all I love this photo of my daughter. It really shows her personality and how she is at home, in real life. She's a silly, goofy, dorky kid who loves to have fun and do wierd things to make us laugh.
Secondly, I love this kit. Love, love, love. It's got so many fun stickers to have your kids, spouse or friends fill out. At first my daughter was annoyed by all the questions but then she really got into it and was laughing along with me while I wrote down her answers.
It was a fun time for all. :p
